South Downs Soloists

28th May

2022-05 South Downs Soloists flyer

South Downs Soloists are an exciting professional ensemble of eight singers, based in Chichester, aiming to perform well-loved and unusual repertoire in a vibrant, full-voiced manner. They are proud to present our concert ‘The Beauty of the Earth’ on 28th May.

The a-capella choir is directed by George Haynes (a Lay Vicar of Chichester Cathedral). The concert features music, both sacred and secular, celebrating nature. Benjamin Britten’s lively and moving Five Flower Songs stand alongside madrigals of Wilbye and Byrd, while sacred texts are set vividly by Gibbons and Lassus, amongst others.

Follow us on Twitter @SD_Soloists and Facebook South Downs Soloists for details of this and future performances.

MRF Choral workshop & concert in Riva del Garda

13-16 October

MRF would like to invite you to participate in the choir workshop with Mozart’s Coronation Mass at Lake Gardathe most mediterranean lake of all Italian Alpine lakes.

The Coronation Mass in C major (KV 317) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, was most probably composed for the Easter service of 1779 at the Salzburg Cathedral. Immediately after his death this church composition, which was probably Mozart’s most popular, became the preferred mass setting for services at imperial and royal coronations as well as at thanksgiving services.

Run By Singers – 2022 Programme

A singing holiday with Run by Singers is an unforgettable experience. We have been arranging choral singing holidays and weekends since 2003

Our singing holidays are for individual choral singers, couples, and groups of friends. You don’t need to come as part of a choir – we make our own choir. Most events are abroad but there are always one or two singing weekends in the UK. All our singing holidays conclude with a concert in a prestigious location.

Groups are typically 50 to 55 singers. Our events are for experienced choral singers only but the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Our musical directors are respected musicians, who have many years’ experience of getting the best from choirs. You can join our mailing list to receive advance booking information for all of our singing holidays in Europe.
